Position Title: Systems Engineer
Location: U.S. Coast Guard Headquarters, Douglas A. Munro Headquarters Building (2703 Martin Luther
King Jr. Ave. SE; Washington, DC).
Clearance: Favorable Background Investigation
The Systems Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert in systems engineering, providing technical expertise and guidance to support the development, integration, and testing of complex systems, including C5I systems. The Systems Engineer shall work independently and as part of a team to ensure that systems are designed, developed, and integrated to meet program and project goals.
Responsibilities:
Provide technical guidance and expertise to TMX-PIO stakeholders on systems engineering matters, including system design, development, and integration.
Conduct assessments of system software components, including review of design documents, code reviews, and testing, to ensure compliance with system requirements and standards.
Assess the integration and testing of complex systems, including system integration, testing, and validation, to ensure that systems meet performance, security, and other requirements.
Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date systems documentation, including system design documents, test plans, and technical reports, to support system development, integration, and testing.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software teams, systems engineering teams, and HRIT stakeholders, to ensure that systems are designed and developed to meet program and project goals.
Conduct systems analysis, including risk assessments, to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
Assess the development and implementation of systems validation and verification plans, including testing and validation procedures, to ensure that systems meet requirements and standards.
Ensure compliance with system requirements, including performance, security, and other requirements, and identify and report any deviations or issues to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Min 6 years experience
The candidate shall possess a deep understanding of systems engineering principles, as well as experience with hardware, software, and firmware components. "
