The Aitech team seeks a highly talented Systems Engineering Manager to lead our Systems Engineering team in developing hardware and software throughout the lifecycle process. This role will provide exceptional functional oversight to Systems Engineering Team members and cross-functional collaboration with other disciplines such as Program Management, Production, and Operations. The position will report directly to the Director of Engineering and communicate information such as project status, team needs, and emerging risks items.

Position Requirements:
Strong knowledge of system design in aerospace and space industries
Oversee and provide functional oversight for Systems Engineers, Technical and Project Leads supporting embedded systems development for space and Mil/Aero Programs
Lead systems requirements definition, architecture design, ICD development, integration, V&V and qualification of system and hardware/software
Lead development lifecycle milestones such as Systems Requirements Review (SRR), Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Test Readiness Review (TRR), and Critical Design Review (CDR)
Support Technical Interchange Meeting (TIM) and Program Management Review (PMR)
Manage system requirements and ICDs
Manage program technical Risk and Opportunity, escalate emerging risk items to Director of Engineering
Interface between engineering team, program management, project leads, production, and Director of Engineering to drive program execution
Provide technical support as required by customers or other departments
Leadership activities such as employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring, career development, training, and identification of specific skills required to execute programs. Assign staff and identify staffing needs (workload forecasting) for on-going and upcoming development program tasks
Recruit talent as needed (job descriptions, resume reviews, interviewing, etc.)
Lead/support process improvement and company-wide initiatives
Champion of change, flexible and adaptable to fast pace working environment
Identify and implement process changes and tools to improve efficiency and quality within the department
Generate and monitor technical relevant KPIs to manage team's performance
Support future technical business development capture activities such as proposal development (BOEs for cost estimates), customer interfacing as needed, and publishing "White Papers" and Technical Articles
Provide various technical support to lifecycle development tasks as needed
Guide the team to improve processes and efficiency
Provide inputs for yearly budgetary planning and department goals
Craft career paths, develop training programs, administer performance reviews (including discipline/corrective actions if needed)
Requirements

Required Experience:
Undergraduate degree in engineering (BS/BEng) or equivalent from an ABET accredited school
10+ years of Aerospace Systems Engineering, or related field, for embedded systems development
5+ years of experience in customer interfacing positions
5+ years of team leadership (direct or in-direct)
Must be a U.S. citizen or be authorized to work in the United States
On-site position

Desired Experience:
Graduate degree in engineering (MS/MEng) or equivalent from an ABET accredited school
2+ years experience as Engineering Manager in a matrix organization structure
Leadership training, graduate certificate, graduate degree (MBA) or equivalent
Knowledge of communication protocols (Ethernet, CAN, ARINC 664, AFDX, ARINC 429, MIL-STD-1553, RS 422, RS 485, UART, SATA, USB, TSN).
Design assurance, aerospace safety assessment & systems development process (DO-254, DO-178, ARP4761, ARP4754).
Industry standards (MIL-STD-810/DO-160, MIL-STD-461, MIL-217).
NASA, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), commercial aerospace, or defense programs experience
Project or program management experience including Earned Value Management (EVM)
Solid presentation skills with awareness to tailor technical information to audience in attendance
Strong ability to communicate clear, concise information with customers, team members, and leadership
