Job Description:

The Tax Systems team is seeking a skilled and driven Team Leader to join our mainframe TEFRA (Tax Equality and Fiscal Remediation Act) development team. Our goal is to uphold the highest standards in the development and maintenance of Tax Reporting applications. The role demands a high degree of independence and self-motivation to learn new applications and understand business requirements they support. Strong collaboration and writing skills are essential for coordinating Tax Reporting projects and developing SDLC documentation. This role requires deep technical proficiency and ability to coordinate projects effectively, ensuring alignment with business objectives and quality standards.

Main areas of responsibilities:

  • Drive architecture roadmap, reference architecture and standard efforts. Provide leadership in all technical aspects of assigned projects, programs and portfolios
  • Architect complex end-to-end solutions across mainframe, distributed and business intelligence environments
  • Develop code, create and execute unit and integration tests that thoroughly exercise logic to ensure application functionality and performance as per business requirements.
  • Work to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives
  • Participate in walk-throughs, which will review TEFRA components, source code, and all technical supporting documentation. Provide feedback in accordance with team standards and guidelines.
  • Engage and interact with business and IT stakeholders to understand TEFRA data requirements and current constraints.
  • Provide usage support for Applications Development, Infrastructure, IT Operations and IT Production Support and user community
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues in mainframe applications, providing support to ensure stability and minimal downtime. This includes monitoring systems performance and adjusting as necessary. [BBH supports a rotating 24x7 schedule for problem resolution and Systems resiliency].
  • Actively participates in periodic BCP exercises; maintains BCP readiness of systems
  • Maintain detailed technical documentation, including design specifications, coding standards, and systems configurations, to ensure comprehensive knowledge transfer and continuity.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of experience with Mainframe Application Programming, implementation, and support
  • Proficiency in developing CICS, COBOL mainframe programs.
  • Proficiency in DB2 on mainframe and ability to create efficient SQL queries and DB2 Stored Procedures.
  • Experience with IBM MQ,VSAM, , Platinum, Changeman, JCL, PROC, OS Utilities, Xpediter, FTP, Debugging Utilities.
  • Knowledge of tuning database queries, optimizing batch jobs and maintaining workload in a high-performance environment.
  • Good communication skills, analytical ability and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to articulate the issues and propose viable solutions
  • Ability to write efficient, optimized code that minimizes resource usage and enhances application performance..
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing clear, detailed documentation.
  • Skilled in communicating technical details to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating effectively within teams.
  • High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy and thoroughness in coding, testing, documentation development, and project coordination.


Nice To Have:
  • Practical skills in Java and related technologies/frameworks.
  • Knowledge of test automation tools.
  • Experience with banking applications and tax reporting.


Salary Range

$110,000 - $160,000

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range(s) shown above are only for the indicated location(s) and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
