Summary:

Quantum Research is seeking a highly skilled Security Analyst to join our dynamic team working on Department of Defense (DoD) contracts. The Security Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and information systems in compliance with DoD and federal regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, DoD security requirements, and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating security risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Security Monitoring and Incident Response:
  • Monitor security event logs and alerts to identify and respond to potential security incidents.
  • Conduct investigations on security breaches or incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Vulnerability Management:
  • Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on systems and applications.
  • Coordinate remediation efforts with system owners and stakeholders.

Compliance and Auditing:
    • Ensure compliance with DoD security regulations, including NIST SP 800-53 and DFARS clauses.
    • Participate in internal and external security audits and assessments.

Risk Assessment:
    • Conduct risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and prioritize security risks.
    • Recommend and implement security controls to mitigate identified risks.

Security Policy and Procedure Development:
    • Assist in developing and maintaining security policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Provide guidance and training to staff on security best practices and policies.

Security Tools Management:
    • Manage and maintain security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint protection solutions.
    • Evaluate and recommend new security tools and technologies to enhance the security posture.

Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and compliance, to ensure a cohesive approach to security.
    • Communicate security risks and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management effectively.
    • Other duties as assigned as support efforts for Corporate Chief Information Officer/VP as business needs evolve and arise


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on DoD contracts and regulations.
  • Security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of DoD security requirements, NIST frameworks, and DFARS clauses.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (Secret or Top Secret).
  • Ability to travel as needed for customer support
