SYSTEMS/ NETWORK ENGINEER (RDTE)
Bowhead is seeking a Systems/Network Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. The Systems/Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining multiple computing environments by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance, and managing network configuration consistency. The Systems/Network Engineer will provide engineering, design, and implementation solutions for multiple network architectures.

Bowhead is seeking a Systems/Network Engineer in Dahlgren, VA. The Systems/Network Engineer is responsible for maintaining multiple computing environments by identifying network requirements; installing upgrades; monitoring network performance, and managing network configuration consistency. The Systems/Network Engineer will provide engineering, design, and implementation solutions for multiple network architectures.
Responsibilities
- Must have a strong background in Network switching and TCP/IP protocol analysis.
- This position requires strong communication skills and strong technical writing capability.
- Implement local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, & other data networks.
- Experience with network routers and switch configuration experience. Environment includes Artysen, Cisco, Mellanox and Asante switches.
- Develop and execute test plans to check infrastructure and system performance.
- Perform network modeling and analysis.
- Define diagrams and designs for business technology initiatives.
- Enforce policies for standardizing systems.
Qualifications
- Three years of experience in networking, IT, or other related fields preferred
- High School Diploma or BA degree prefered
- Familiarity with researching communication networks
- Must have strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Strong attention to detail, good documentation skills, ability to write clear, concise project reports
- Ability to function with minimal instruction or supervision, or as a part of larger team reporting to formal project management
- CompTIA Security+ CE Certification or qualify for IAT Level II
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 10-20 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
