Talent Acquisition & Development Specialist
Location: Peoria, IL (on-site)
Salary Range: Job Grade 26 - $85,000 - $128,000 (Exempt)
Schedule: Full-time | Monday - Friday with occasional nights/weekends for events

What You'll Do:
Talent Acquisition (~50%)
Partner with plant leadership to understand and meet staffing needs for skilled trades, hourly, and salaried roles.
Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, resume screening, interviews, offers.
Build partnerships with trade schools and local programs to strengthen hiring pipelines.
Ensure a positive candidate experience from start to finish.
Track recruiting metrics and adjust strategies to meet hiring goals.
Support compliance with EEO, affirmative action, and hiring policies.
Training & Development (~50%)
Coordinate onboarding for new hourly and salaried employees with a focus on safety and readiness.
Design and deliver training for production teams, leaders, and compliance.
Identify skills gaps and training needs with department heads.
Maintain training records and certifications to ensure compliance.
Support succession planning and growth for emerging leaders.
Promote continuous improvement, safety, and engagement through training.
What We're Looking For:
Experience: 3+ years in HR, recruiting, or training-preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry. Strong preference to experience within unionized settings.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Skills:
Certifications: SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.

- Knowledge of labor relations and industrial compliance training
- Excellent communication and relationship-building across all levels
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ATS, and LMS platforms
- Experience with PeopleSoft and Prism a plus
- Graphic design experience a bonus
Certifications: SPHR or SHRM-SCP preferred.
