Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Talent Data Analyst to join its Talent Department in Washington, DC. This role is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights through reports, dashboards, and visualizations that guide strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Power BI, SQL, and Python, with a strong understanding of data modeling and predictive analytics.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data needs and deliver tailored insights.

  • Use Python for data analysis, automation, and the development of predictive models.

  • Write complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and performance tuning.

  • Integrate machine learning tools to support forecasting and analytics.

  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights to support talent strategy and operational improvements.

  • Automate reporting workflows using Microsoft 365 tools.

  • Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality of all data.

  • Maintain documentation for data sources, processes, and methodologies.

  • Translate business questions into understandable data stories and visual narratives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience considered.

  • At least 2 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field.

  • Expertise in Power BI (Desktop, Service, and Mobile), DAX, and Power Query.

  • Strong command of SQL, including advanced queries and performance optimization.

  • Solid experience with Python libraries (e.g., pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).

  • Proven ability to translate business needs into impactful visualizations and dashboards.

  • Familiarity with ETL processes, data modeling, and database management is a plus.

  • Experience with Azure Data Services, UKG, and legal industry tools (e.g., Aderant Expert, Intapp Time) is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft M365 and Windows environments.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong attention to detail, discretion with sensitive data, and a proactive mindset.

  • Flexible to work additional hours as needed.
