TAX MANAGER, FINANCIAL REPORTING

The Tax Manager position is a manger-level position in the Financial Reporting team located in the Carmel Corporate Office. This role will contribute to the success of the Company through financial reporting, internal controls, and process development. Individuals in this role will have the opportunity to work with the executive management team and gain experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job Details

Withholding Tax - Review of various non payroll withholding tax estimates and required filings and coordination of compliance calendars.

Premium Tax - Review of premium tax estimates and returns.

Income Tax Provisions - Preparation and/or review of quarterly and annual income tax provisions.

Income Tax Estimates - Calculation of quarterly income tax estimates.

Tax Notices - Review and respond to communication received from various taxing jurisdictions and agencies.

General Accounting - Ensure timely and accurate tax accounting entries are made to the general ledger and subsidiary accounts that accurately reflect the business operations of the Company.

Communication - Review and monitor tax legislation and regulatory activity. Assess and communicate impacts.

Audit - Provide general support for internal and external auditors as needed.

Job Requirements

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA License
  • Minimum of 3 years public accounting experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience desired
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices, financial markets, banking and the analysis, federal and state tax laws and reporting of financial data.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to be accurate in the completion of tasks.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to plan, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and draw conclusion from statistical data.
  • Ability to research various accounting and reporting topics, draw conclusion and present findings.
  • Pro-active and highly resourceful with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to function well in a high paced environment.
  • Flexible hours as dictated by the needs of the team for deadlines, projects and meetings.
  • Extensive experience using computers and Microsoft Office products, including advanced proficiency with Excel.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively. Skilled in clearly communicating complex concepts verbally including ability to answer customer service questions by phone and in writing.
  • Experience with software for regulatory filing and general accounting.
