Blue & Co. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Operations Manager to join our growing Tax practice.
The ideal candidate will possess technical, process and technology expertise, excellent communication and proven organizational and project management skills and have a passion for optimizing operations within a large Tax practice in a growing accounting firm. This role will serve as the primary connector between Tax Practice leadership, office locations and firm administration. The responsibilities outlined below will also intersect closely with leaders of core firm operations, including but not limited to Finance, HR, IT and Marketing.

Responsibilities:
- Support firmwide Tax Practice change-management initiatives.
- Develop, document and deploy firmwide processes to support quality and consistency in client deliverables.
- Develop, document and deploy firmwide Tax processes as needed to support tax strategies.
- Participate in leadership and strategy meetings; assign and monitor action items.
- Prioritize projects with Tax Leaders to ensure necessary resources are available.
- Monitor progress of, and compliance with, key initiatives.
- Collaborate with the CIO and Technology team on new projects and initiatives related to our Tax Practice, and manage the non-technical processes involved in IT projects.
- Collaborate with Firmwide L&D Leadership and Tax L&D Committee to support and deploy learning plans.
- Partner with Quality Control team to assist in development of structures, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and professional requirements.
- Collaborate with CMO and Tax leaders on client retention analysis, go to market campaigns, marketing study groups, and assist with deployment, results review & action plans related to employee surveys.
- Assist with agenda development and execution of Tax specific learning events.
- Host/present Tax Chats regarding risk topics agreed upon with Tax leaders.
- Work with the CFO and finance team on performance against goals.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a multi-office/multi-location public accounting firm.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a tax operations role or demonstrated tax operations experience as part of job responsibilities.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or business management.
- CPA preferred, but not required.
- Expert level proficiency in Microsoft suite of products.
- CCH Axcess Workflow, Tax and Document experience preferred but not required.
