The Resource Manager is a Business Unit (BU) based role, sitting in the Tax practice as a member of the Tax People Team. The Resource Manager effectively partners with business leaders to ensure optimal staffing solutions considering skills, availability, and utilization levels. The Resource Manager is a trusted business partner who manages deployment opportunities across the Specialty Business Unit (SBU) and drive balanced levels of utilization through enhanced visibility of skills and capacity.
Responsibilities:
The salary range is $95,000 - $125,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. The Resource Manager effectively partners with business leaders to ensure optimal staffing solutions considering skills, availability, and utilization levels. The Resource Manager is a trusted business partner who manages deployment opportunities across the Specialty Business Unit (SBU) and drive balanced levels of utilization through enhanced visibility of skills and capacity.
Responsibilities:
- Handle the day-to-day execution of staffing across the practice, ensuring that staff has a stable, consistent workload that matches their skills. Analyze and evaluate utilization metrics and monitor staff progress toward chargeable hour goals.
- Develop a deep understanding of the business and maintain close collaboration with operations professionals to understand the services and skills required for these professionals to serve client engagements successfully.
- Work closely with the Tax People Team to develop and implement strategies for improving staff performance and utilization.
- Work closely with the Digital Tax Services team to project manage the optimization of current staffing tools and participate in practice-wide strategic initiatives and projects supporting the resource management strategy.
- Use data-driven insights to inform resource management decisions and strategies. This includes analyzing utilization metrics, identifying trends and patterns, and using this information to forecast future resource needs and inform strategic planning.
- Build awareness of individuals' performance goals and development needs.
- Bachelor's degree in business, management, or a related area.
- Previous resource management experience in a consulting firm or large matrix organization.
- Strong understanding of consulting practice operations and project management.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Able to manage staffing by effectively prioritizing multiple competing demands and dealing with tight deadlines
- Able to present meaningful reporting insights to senior leadership, delivering key resourcing messages and driving agreed upon actions
- Excellent relationship building skills, communicating with Business Leaders and staff across various business units
