Job Description

The Team Lead Grants & Compliance will manage all financial and accounting aspects of the grants and government funding lifecycle. This individual will help develop a best-in-practice grants accounting process.

In this role, you will:

For Government and Private Restricted Grants:

- Manage the upfront financial budget development process in collaboration with FP&A.

- Collaborate with Advancement and other individuals with knowledge of grant funded projects and spending categories.

- Design, implement and train employees on improved tagging processes, i.e. expense coding process;

- Ensure appropriate tagging and optimal utilization of grant funding.

- Prepare financial reports on funds tagged and utilization.

- Conduct due diligence on untagged expenditures to determine eligibility under restricted grants.

- Monitor receipt of payments.

- Ensure compliance with all funding requirements.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for government funding financial inquiries; and

- Manage all audits and reviews.

Managing Key Relationships:

- Liaise with leaders and members of our Accounting, FP&A, Advancement, and Advisory teams, as well as outside government agencies, in order to build efficiency around grant funding and accounting processes.

Accounting and Financial Record keeping:

- Ensure proper recording of grant and philanthropy revenues and associated doubtful accounts expense

- Reconcile revenue, accounts receivable and deferred revenues on a monthly bases

- Ensure proper tracking and recording of Net Assets

- Maintain 606 and ASU2018-08 revenue analysis

- Ensure compliance with regulatory records maintenance requirements

We'd love to hear from you if:

- You have 6+ years of experience, with 2 years of exposure to accounting/finance for grants and government funds.

- You possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting or Finance;

- You display strong interpersonal skills and the ability to drive change.

- You have expertise in prioritizing projects, problem solving, meeting deadlines and initiating follow through, showing a strict attention to detail

Compensation Range
: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00
