s a member of a dynamic development team, the Team Lead - Senior HW Systems Designer will be responsible for Leading a small team of HW designers, including planning, scheduling, architecture, design, testing and delivery to manufacturing of carrier-grade hardware used for optical line systems capable of 400Gbps and beyond.
RESPONSIBILITIES
What You'll Do
- Lead HW development projects and advise and mentor HW, mechanical, and FPGA team members.
- Responsible for creating and evolving HW architectures for 1RU transport platform.
- Project lead for other resources like mechanical design and FPGA design including program effort estimation and program resource planning.
- Own all aspects of circuit pack development schedule, prototype delivery, product testing and product certification.
- Work with product line management and other managers to interpret and negotiate product features and specifications.
- Lead and interface with contract resources outside of your organization or external to the company.
- Define technical specifications to support design concepts and participate in specification reviews.
- Participate in design reviews, guide technical discussions to conclusion.
- Interface with component vendors and negotiate design specifications with external suppliers
- Review Designs to ensure they meet architecture goals.
- Support the technology transfer to manufacturing/production testing.
What You Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent coupled with 12+ years of experience in optical transport equipment development or high-speed circuit pack development.
- Experience with 1RU carrier-grade system requirements and high-speed optical transmission systems.
- Experience with board level development and being a team lead for development projects.
- Experience and understanding of design for testability and manufacturability concepts.
- Experience with a variety of optical interfaces and telecommunications standards up to 400G and beyond.
