CLASS TITLE: Team Leader, Infants and Toddlers (12-month) Northeast

SCHEDULE: Full Time

REPORTS TO: Specialist, Birth-to-Five

DEFINITION: Plans, coordinates, and participates in activities that support the operation of an Infants and Toddlers Program site. Coordinates and oversees the work of professional and support staff providing services to children and their families. Ensures that all initiatives support the system-wide goals identified in system-wide and the Birth-to-Five Services strategic plan.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

Manages, organizes, and coordinates the year-round operation of the Infants and Toddlers Program (ITP) site.

Assigns and monitors the work of all professional and support staff including, but not limited to the direct delivery of early intervention services to children and families.

Ensures that early intervention services are provided in a timely and quality manner. Reviews assessment/evaluation reports, Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs), and transition documents.

Oversees documentation of site activities and services in accordance with required compliance standards and appropriate data collection. Prepares and presents required reports. Keeps program supervisors informed of the site's activities, challenges, and needs.

Collaborates with Birth-to-Five Supervisors in providing direct supervision of professional and support staff in accordance with BCPS policies.

Acts as a liaison for ITP in coordinating supportive services and resolving issues related to implementation of the IFSP with families and various public and private programs.

Conducts staff meetings and professional development activities for Infants &Toddlers (I&T) staff, families, and community partners.

Coordinates the I&T responsibilities for transitioning children from I&T to special education or other community programs through collaborative efforts with special education staff.

Provides direct clinical services to children and families including interim and ongoing service coordination in homes, virtually and other community settings such as childcare and preschool settings

Completes payroll for exempt, non-exempt, and contractual staff members.

Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training and Experience:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in special education or a related field. Three years of successful professional special education or early intervention experience. Master's degree is preferred.

Licenses and Certificates:
Possession of a Maryland Educator Professional Certificate appropriate to the area of assignment.
OR
Possession of, or eligibility for, a Maryland Educator Professional License appropriate to the area of assignment.
OR
Possession of a professional license in a related or health services discipline.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of early intervention and special education services to children and their families.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of special education.
Knowledge of early childhood development.
Ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee the work of a professionals providing early intervention services.
Ability to coordinate and oversee the work of an Infants and Toddlers center.
Ability to appropriately maintain confidential information.
Knowledge of and skill in the use of database, internet, spreadsheet, word processing, and related applications.
Knowledge of and skill in data analysis. Knowledge of Part C of IDEA is a requirement of this position.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
Although the work of this class is generally sedentary and performed in an office environment, some of the essential duties require traveling to a variety of community settings including homes. The work also includes the operation of office equipment, including personal computers, and occasional limited physical activities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
On occasion the work requires a flexible work schedule to meet the scheduling needs of families and other community programs.

GRADE: TABCO 12-month pay scale

SALARY: $71,400 - $142,231

OTHER COMPENSATION: Position may be eligible for relocation bonus, extra duty activities pay, or other student activities pay as defined in the applicable Bargaining Unit Agreement.

RETIREMENT: Eligible for membership in the Maryland State Retirement System.
