Software Development Team Lead

Buffalo Grove, IL

Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Hybrid/Remote

We are seeking a talented and collaborative Software Development Team Lead to guide and mentor a dynamic team of developers. The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer with leadership capabilities, passionate about mentoring early-career professionals, driving architectural decisions, and delivering high-quality software solutions.

Some things you will be doing:
  • Lead, mentor, and support team members, particularly those earlier in their software development careers, helping them enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
  • Guide the software development lifecycle, including architectural design, development, code reviews, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate closely with the product team, UX designers, and stakeholders to deliver outstanding user experiences and high-quality products.
  • Provide technical leadership in architectural decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Facilitate code reviews and enforce coding standards and best practices across the development team.
  • Oversee task delegation, resource allocation, and prioritization within an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Actively participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation and knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Provide immediate and continuous feedback regarding team performance and individual career development.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new development team members.

What technical skills, experience, and qualifications do you need?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience with software development and architecture in technologies such as C#, React, Next.js, GitHub, and Azure.
  • Proven experience mentoring and developing junior software engineers.
  • Strong understanding of UX best practices and demonstrated experience collaborating with product teams to enhance end-user experiences.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices (preferably Azure and GitHub Actions).
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and project management tools (Azure DevOps Boards).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

At CSC, compensation depends on several factors, including job location and the knowledge and experience of each individual. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $145,000 - $170,000.
