Overview:

We are seeking a Tech Explore Director to lead our Tech Explore Engineering Team, reporting directly to the Tech Explore League Leader. This role will leverage the Data Center of the Future innovation program and will be accountable for driving the Exploration portfolio across Energy Management divisions. You will deliver expected outcomes and learnings from exploration projects executed under your direct and indirect leadership.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Trend Analysis: Extract insights from disruptive trends to understand architectural and solution impacts on Data Center subsystems and tech domains.
  • Portfolio Development: Drive the development and execution of the Exploration portfolio across tech domains, ensuring alignment with Divisional CTOs and Lines of Business (LoBs).
  • Community Engagement: Animate the Data Center Tech Explore community across EM divisions.
  • Technology Workstreams: Manage key technology and innovation initiatives with targeted customer and partner engagement, especially through AI enterprise and partner ecosystem teams.
  • Lab Management: Oversee the Lab setup in Andover to deliver project Proofs of Concept (PoCs) executed by the Tech Explore League.
  • Innovation Leadership: Contribute to SE or external events, white papers, application notes, and patents, showcasing thought leadership.
  • Offer Enhancements: Identify potential offer enhancements and collaborate with Innovation leaders and LoBs to build investment cases.
  • Team Development: Build and develop the skills of the Tech Explore Engineering Team to meet current and future needs.
  • Budget Management: Drive the Exploration portfolio budget and manage resources effectively.


Profile:
This is a leadership role requiring an innovative, agile, and structured leader who can work across multiple teams and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Proven experience in innovation and tech team management, particularly in Data Center applications.
  • A strong entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on results and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage at various management levels.
  • Solid analytical thinking and decision-making capabilities, integrating technical policies with business strategies.
  • Over 10 years of experience in technical roles within critical facilities, and at least 5 years of customer-facing experience.
  • A relevant engineering or master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, or Electronics.


Domain of Expertise:
  • Application Scope: AI infrastructure deployment throughout the value chain (GPUs, servers, racks, and stacks) for small and large Data Centers.
  • Technical Scope: Addressing needs from Grid to Chip to Chiller, focusing on IT room components: PSU, rack-PDU, racks, PDU, liquid cooling, MV/LV, transformers, back-up generation, power conversion, and heat rejection systems.
  • Digital Transformation: Utilize EcoStruxure suite for connectivity, control, and advanced applications across Power, Building, and IT domains, including modeling and digital twin applications.


Key Abilities:
  • Customer Engagement: Actively listen to business needs and articulate complex topics simply.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with C&SP and AI Ecosystem teams to align priorities and delivery plans.
  • Partnership Development: Foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve Tech Explore portfolio goals.
  • Talent Attraction: Attract new talent and shape a relevant expertise network.


Success Factors:
Engagement will involve both external and internal interactions, including:
  • External: Collaboration with GPU and server manufacturers, AI infrastructure solution integrators, large customers, universities, and influential organizations.
  • Internal: Working closely with the DCoF community, AI Ecosystem teams, and various Strategy and Innovation roles across EM divisions.

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $200,320 - $300,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
