Summary

This is an important role in Product & Inforce organization. You will influence major Product Launch initiatives enabling technical solutions and learning about latest Product features, APIs, and related integrations working with multiple Product and Inforce Teams.

As technical lead, you will be working closely with product managers and scrum managers as a part of SCRUM teams with developers & quality Engineering in our global locations. You will be expected to deliver end-to-end solutions for moderate to complex projects in a fast-paced environment. Has ability to dissect requirements to assist in guiding Product, business areas and IT partners for administrative system and integration to applications in the Product domain.

This is a technical hands-on role reporting to the Director of Product & Illustrations and leading to a Applications Domain Head position as a part of a career growth strategy within the Product & Inforce organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills, as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles;
  • Establish and sustain trust partnerships with business stakeholders and product owners dependent on the incumbent's technical guidance;
  • Ensure IT resources are effectively utilized in IT Application Service delivery;
  • Apply skills in application development and support while exhibiting leadership in process re-engineering and implementation of technology;
  • Collaborate with architects and development community to define and maintain standards, processes, and emerging technical roadmaps;
  • Collaborate with IT staff maintaining applications in the Product domain or with points of integration to applications;
  • Collaborate across departments to align strategies, streamline operations, and deliver exceptional service to stakeholders.
  • Support strategic financial developments for New Product Launches;
  • You will own the detailed technical designs and specifications that are compliant with the solutions architecture.
  • Judge the feasibility and trade-off of different technologies and make choices that fit the constraints of the project/product. Ensure solutions satisfy business requirements and are of the highest quality;
  • Estimate delivery cost and schedule for all domain related solutions, projects and requests;
  • Build and maintain detailed working knowledge of key business applications;
  • Identify application transformation & rationalization opportunities as we transform to a simpler, more modern system platform;
  • Develop application design, application configuration, test processes and release management;
  • Communicate effectively, and with an appropriate level of detail, to all levels in the organization.
  • Work with limited direction, usually within a complex environment, to drive delivery of solutions and meet service levels.
  • Strong conceptual and analytic skills. Ability to design and build complex algorithms.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor degree, preferred in Computer Science, or relevant work experience.
  • 10+ years Full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience; Designing, maintaining and enhancing software applications leveraging COBOL, JCL, SQL, CICS, DB2, VSAM, ISPF/PDF, FILE-AID, MVS, Endevor and using IBM Mainframe environment preferred
  • 10+ Life or Annuity Product knowledge on Vantage Policy administrative platform preferred
  • 4+ years of experience leading product / project development team on Vantage policy administrative platform preferred
  • Open-minded with proven ability to work collaboratively with others in team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead in a highly matrixed, heavily outsourced organization through a combination of influence, partnership, and authority;
  • Ability to manage IT Suppliers in a cost- effective manner;
  • Ability to manage change and cope with complex and ambiguous situations;
  • Agile solution delivery skills highly desired;
The base compensation range represents the low and high end of the range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to qualifications, skills, competencies, location, and experience. The range listed is just one component of our total compensation package for employees.
Other rewards may include an annual bonus, quarterly bonuses, commissions, and other long-term incentive compensation, depending on the position.
