Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Technical Delivery Lead. Technical Delivery Lead provides leadership to teams that support custom software solutions for some of the world's largest retailers. We partner with tier 1 retail customers to deliver innovative consumer experiences leveraging a wide range of technologies. This opportunity will focus on both legacy software stacks (C++, Java) as well as our new, cloud-native platform leveraging microservices and Open API with a Java backend, built with containers for scalability and rapid development. Our solutions (both legacy and new) enable connected consumer experiences across any device, from any location.
Our managers are involved in the entire project lifecycle: they communicate directly with our retail clients to understand and help facilitate and to advocate our solutions; they collaborate with the implementation and test teams on design and development; and they oversee delivery and provide ongoing support for their work.

Areas of Expertise & Special Skills
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of development experience in a customer-focused environment.
- At least 2 years of experience leading teams that enhance both legacy products and cloud-based solutions using modern Java and web technologies.
- Strong critical-thinking and decision-making abilities.
- Proven ability to find creative solutions to complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and guide colleagues.
- Expertise in programming and debugging.
- Experience in leading small to medium-sized teams.
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented and functional concepts, data structures, and related algorithms.
Preferred Skills:
- Primary Technology: C++, Java, Python.
- Secondary Technology: JavaScript and popular frameworks, microservices, Spring, ActiveMQ, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure/AKS & Cosmos, OpenAI.
- Other Technology: TCxSky, Linux operating systems.
- Interest in direct communication with customers, including non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with retail concepts and/or applications.
- Experience with retail POS devices.
Major responsibilities:
- Lead teams in the design, development, implementation, optimization, maintenance, and troubleshooting of software programs and applications.
- Provide technical guidance during requirements workshops with clients; offer estimates for new functions.
- Consult with other business areas, including product development, purchasing, HR, etc., during normal business operations.
- Provide technical guidance during customer meetings; offer technical recommendations and troubleshooting.
- Represent client environment needs during product review meetings for various products (ACE, CHEC, ELERA).
- Assist in sales pursuits by communicating solution architecture recommendations for clients.
- Assist in resolving resource contentions between projects.
- Provide guidance to team members during customer and internal project meetings, with a focus on customer relationships.
- Ensure adherence to schedules and the delivery of quality products.
