Hydro Aluminium Metal a leading supplier of extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, foundry alloys, wire rods and high-purity aluminum with a global production network of around 5,000 employees. With primary metal production facilities in Europe, Canada, Australia, Brazil and Qatar, and recycling facilities throughout Europe and in the U.S., two-thirds of our primary aluminum production is based on renewable energy.

Salary Range: $184,639 to $212,022JobSummary:

The Technical Director and Head of CTS is responsible for directing customer technical activities and technology solutions to support the overall strategy of Hydro Aluminum Metals USA, ensuring Hydros position as a leader in billet and metal technology.

Required Education/Experience:
  • An advanced degree (Masters or Doctorate (preferred)in material science or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of ten years in the aluminum industry are required; a minimum of 3-5 years of experience managing a team are desirable.
  • Extensive knowledge of the aluminum extrusion market and automotive product specifications is required.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise:In-depth knowledge of aluminum metallurgy, alloy design, and remelting processes.
  • Leadership Experience:Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Industry Knowledge:Familiarity with industry standards and participation in technical committees (e.g., AEC, ASTM, AA).
  • Financial Management:Proficiency in financial planning, budgeting, and KPI monitoring to drive business performance.
  • Communication Skills:Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, including customers, industry groups, and internal stakeholders.
  • Project Management:Experience in managing large-scale technical projects from conception to implementation.
