Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a relevant domain.
Experience & Skills:
- Proficiency in programming and scripting languages, with experience in full-stack development.
- Strong background in front-end web development.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and database management.
- Expertise in database architecture, design, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices such as unit testing and CI/CD is a plus.
- Familiarity with controlled vocabularies, medical ontologies, ACMG guidelines, and ClinVar is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and execution of data ETL, management, and engineering processes.
- Provide hands-on support in building the next-generation knowledge informatics platform.
- Develop user interfaces for curation and data maintenance tools based on user requirements.
- Optimize data processing workflows to enhance internal analysis, interpretation, and clinical reporting efficiency.
- Implement data models and software frameworks for effective storage and processing of clinical insights.
- Integrate large-scale genomic datasets into backend systems for efficient extraction, retrieval, and visualization.
- Monitor database performance, optimize queries, and improve overall system efficiency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geneticists, bioinformaticians, software engineers, and IT professionals, in a regulated clinical diagnostics environment.
