Description:

TECHNICAL LEAD, Microelectronics Systems

Hyperlume is a semiconductor company with a mission to transform data center connectivity with the world's fastest and most energy-efficient microLED-based interconnects. With AI models exceeding 1 trillion parameters and training clusters of more than 100,000 GPUs, higher levels of connectivity, driven by higher bandwidth, lower latency and lower energy consumption are needed to reach AI's full potential and solve some of the world's most challenging problems. As the world enters this new era of artificial intelligence, Hyperlume is committed to developing cutting-edge connectivity solutions in months, not years.

Hyperlume is looking for a highly skilled and experienced ASIC and Microelectronics Design Team Lead to lead the chip design and prototyping of cutting-edge electro-optical communication systems, from concept to tape-out and system-level integration. The primary focus will be on developing active optical cables using visible light wavelengths, design and integration of optical transceivers and control interfaces (e.g., I2C) while ensuring high performance, reliability and manufacturability. If you want to work on the next generation of optical technologies, Hyperlume is one of the few places in the world where you can do that.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead the design and development of advanced optical systems, including transmitter/receiver modules and the electronics powering Active Optical Cables (AOCs). This role will ideally require design experience in RF, Analog and mixed signal microelectronic circuits.
  • Spearhead the integration of the developed ASIC with high-speed PCBs for optical and electronic systems, including interfacing and programming control protocols such as I2C, SPI, or UART for managing optical modules.
  • Ensure optimal performance, reliability, and manufacturability across all designs, driving innovation from concept to prototype.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree or Ph.D in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on microelectronics or photonic circuits.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in design, with a proven track record of leading projects from concept to tape-out.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership in electronics and optics through the entire design and development process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and drive to innovate within a fast-paced, high-tech environment.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with cross-disciplinary team collaboration.

HOW WE EVALUATE APPLICATIONS
  • Merit: A proven track record of excellence in electro-optical systems, with hands-on expertise in optical system design and PCB integration.
  • Excellence: A relentless drive to deliver high-quality solutions that redefine industry standards.
  • Intelligence: A deep understanding of optical communication technologies and a hunger for continuous learning and innovation.
