Isilon Storage Administrator
Key responsibilities of an Isilon Storage:
Deploying new Isilon nodes, configuring network settings, creating storage pools, and setting up file system access controls.
Analyzing existing storage pools and processes and improvise them.
Analyzing storage performance metrics, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing adjustments to optimize
data throughput and latency.
Proactively monitoring storage usage, planning for future capacity needs, and managing data lifecycle policies to ensure efficient storage utilization.
Implementing data replication strategies, creating snapshots, and managing backup procedures to protect against data loss.
Diagnosing and resolving issues related to Isilon hardware, software, network connectivity, and file system access.
Implementing and enforcing security policies on the Isilon cluster, including user access controls and data encryption.
Applying firmware updates and software patches to maintain system stability and security.
Maintaining detailed documentation of Isilon configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Required skills for an Isilon Storage Admin:
Deep understanding of Dell EMC Isilon storage systems and OneFS operating system
Expertise in network protocols like NFS and CIFS
Experience with storage management tools and interfaces
Experience with configuration management tools like Chef and Puppet.
Knowledge of data protection strategies and best practices
Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work with diversified teams and co-ordinate various data migrations and implementation skills.
Salary Range- $125,000-$140,000 a year
