Technical Leader - Combustion Testing
In this role, the Technical Leader - Combustion Testing will be responsible for coordinating the Test Engineering team and Operations team in the planning, design, development, instrumentation, and execution of engineering development tests of Gas Power products in the Combustion Lab located in Greenville, SC.
The Greenville Technology Lab is responsible for the execution of critical combustion and mechanical test programs with the objective of acquiring high-quality design data that will facilitate the development of world-class products primarily for GE Gas Power. This position will focus on the high-pressure, high-temperature testing operations within the Combustion Lab.

The Technical Leader - Combustion Testing is responsible for interfacing with the Design Engineering teams in the planning, design, development, instrumentation, and execution of engineering development testing for energy products including gas turbine components and accessories systems supporting the Component and Development Test Center of Excellence of GE Gas Power. Pay Transparency:
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is 111,200.00 - 185,400.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for 15% annual performance incentive.

Job Description

The Technical Leader - Combustion Testing is responsible for interfacing with the Design Engineering teams in the planning, design, development, instrumentation, and execution of engineering development testing for energy products including gas turbine components and accessories systems supporting the Component and Development Test Center of Excellence of GE Gas Power. In order to realize this goal, this engineer and their team will:
- Maintain responsibility for integrating engineering requirements with Design Engineering, Facilities and Instrumentation Engineering, and Data Systems Engineering in the design, development, and test execution to prove out component and system functionality and reliability
- Provide support to facility design engineering team for expansions, modifications, and upgrades in support of test programs
- Develop, coordinate, lead, and execute daily operation plans
- Develop and implement process controls
- Guide and support junior staff or interns
- Responsible for timely and accurate test cost billing
- Provide cost estimates for internal and external test proposals
- Ensure standard work documentation is accurate and up to date
- Responsible for operational compliance with ISO requirements
- Support Lab Manager in the strategic planning of labor, equipment, and other resources
- Responsible for full compliance with GE Vernova and regulatory EHS policies
- Maintain a safe work environment with a goal of "zero" injuries
- Work with customers both internal and external to GE Vernova
- Develop and implement process improvements within the team
Qualifications/Requirements:
- BS in Engineering from an accredited institution
- Engineering design, development, or testing of turbines, jet engines, or turbo machinery - minimum 8 years
- Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Eligibility to work on US export control projects
- Must be willing to work 100% onsite
Desired Characteristics:
- Effective at managing multiple priorities and disciplines under tight deadlines
- Experience in combustion testing, design, and installation
- Experience in aerothermal combustion design and objectives
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and external customers
- Knowledge of high-pressure/high-temperature fuel, inert gas, and air systems
