Position Summary
The Technical Manager I is a hands-on leadership role responsible for leading and mentoring the technician team within our Brooklyn Park manufacturing facility. This position oversees daily priorities, provides technical guidance in troubleshooting, ensures effective preventive maintenance execution, and supports continuous improvement across production operations. The ideal candidate will have an electrical background, strong communication skills, and a passion for team development.
This position reports to the Director of Engineering.

Pay Range: $98,147-$138,468
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and develop the technician team through coaching, mentorship, and clear expectations
- Set daily priorities and coordinate technician support to align with production goals
- Provide hands-on troubleshooting and guidance on electrical and mechanical systems
- Assist in reading and interpreting schematics and documentation to support the team
- Ensure execution of preventive maintenance and equipment uptime
- Support and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the facility
- Oversee facilities-related tasks and ensure general site readiness
- Partner cross-functionally with engineers, production, and other departments
- Serve as a key escalation point for technical issues on the floor
- Other duties as assigned

Required
- Preferred 4-year engineering degree or a 2-year technical degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of supervisory experience in a technical or manufacturing environment
- Electrical/electronic troubleshooting skills and ability to interpret schematics
- Strong organizational skills and ability to set team priorities effectively
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems and manufacturing processes
- Proficient in Excel and general Microsoft Office suite
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on leadership role
Preferred
- Experience with Visio, AutoCAD, or similar software
- Background in Lean or Continuous Improvement methodologies
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback to technician staff
- Assign technician resources to support projects, production, and equipment maintenance
- Enforce company policies and ensure adherence to safety and operational standards
- Conduct performance reviews and participate in hiring, onboarding, and development
- Foster a collaborative and accountable team culture
