Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Technical Manager to lead and support one of our technical projects with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). This pivotal role requires a proactive leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, constantly researching and learning new tools and techniques to address evolving project needs. The ideal candidate will become the "go-to" expert for all technical aspects of the DISA support project, leveraging deep knowledge of system engineering, system maintenance and monitoring, patching, and Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum. As the key point of contact, this person will effectively coordinate and communicate technical matters across multiple teams, including the DISA lab support team, direct customers, and external system users.

Proficiency with Kubernetes, cloud, and VMware environment operations Proficiency with RedHat and the patching process Experience with Kafka Knowledge of Service Mesh (ISTIO), API Gateway (Kong), and Keycloak Understanding of the DoD STIG and patching process Experience with Jira, Jenkins, and CI/CD processes

As the key point of contact, this person will effectively coordinate and communicate technical matters across multiple teams, including the DISA lab support team, direct customers, and external system users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the DISA lab support team in their effort to install, maintain, and monitor a modernized system deployed on Kubernetes to Cloud (Azure and AWS) and on-prem (VMware) environments.
- Work with the application development team to quickly understand current and future architecture requirements to ensure a readily available and stable environment for deployment.
- Provide leadership to refine and enhance the deployment and system maintenance processes, ensuring scalability and efficiency.
- Analyze existing documentation to identify areas for improvement; update and enhance documentation to maintain accuracy and relevance.
- Manage the creation and maintenance of essential documentation and system deliverables.
- Oversee the deployment of the system and lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve any issues promptly.
- Lead onboarding effort for external systems and applications users that interface with the application.
- Interface with various stakeholders within and outside of DoD to provide regular updates, respond to inquiries, and present potential solutions to emerging challenges.
- Wear multiple hats within the project scope, including roles as manager, engineer (as needed), tester (as needed), documentation specialist (as needed) and customer liaison, ensuring comprehensive oversight and dynamic response to project needs.
- Balance security, schedule, and system effectiveness to implement optimal solutions.
- Adapt quickly to new technologies and changes in a fast-paced and high-intensity environment.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in software and infrastructure engineering and team leadership.
- Strong familiarity with Agile (Scrum) methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

- Active Secret Clearance and ability to meet DoD security standards.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- Ability to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD.
