Purpose:
Comtech is looking for a Technical Program Manager to support the design, implementation, and continued maintenance of our Next Generation 9-1-1 services. The role will focus on planning and deploying our services while being the customers' advocate throughout the deployment process. The candidate will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment, coordination, and successful preparation, and delivery of NG911 - from call ingress through delivery to the public safety answering point (PSAP).
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement onboarding processes and procedures required to support the rollout and maintenance of NG9-1-1 services
Manage communications and processes with telecommunications service providers
Coordinate internal and external resources in support of required project deliverables
Primary escalation for ingress call routing issues
Identify and implement process innovations, programmatic improvements, and automation opportunities for better operational efficiency
Facilitate risk mitigation as a part of service deployment oversight
Drive alignment between product, operations, and service delivery to support business growth and efficiency
Support the delivery of our contractually obligated services through our deployment and maintenance phases
Horizontal alignment and coordination between operations and service delivery for implementation and maintenance of services/software
Manage, coordinate, and provide oversight of our vendors and partners
Report and present schedules, progress, and risks to senior leadership
Generate KPIs from data sources to identify areas of improvement
Up to 20% travel required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Technical and operational understanding of NG911 call flow
Experience working with telecommunications service providers
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent leadership and demonstrated initiative
Demonstrated analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills
Establishing and communicating process
Proven experience in task management and status reporting
Demonstrated leadership, organizational skills, planning skills
Ability to prioritize and escalate where appropriate
Proven ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed environment
Quality orientation with a strong eye for detail
Competency with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, Powerpoint, Sharepoint
Requirements:
Four-year college degree or 8+ years of 911 systems experience.
Several years of experience in the 911 industry
3+ years of project management experience
