The Technical Project Manager is a technically trained project manager with responsible for supporting the delivery of integrated development and manufacturing programs at the Abzena San Diego Site. The Technical Project Manager is a capable communicator that can organize information and provide the internal teams with guidance throughout the lifecycle of a customer project. This role is also tasked with maintaining customer relationships established by the Technical Program Managers and Sales Business Partners by ensuring the cross-functional teams deliver upon the contract commitments. The position is part of a development path for project managers and/or technical leaders moving from other functional areas.

Responsibilities
    • Maintains program status and financial reports for internal and external distribution.
    • Ensures all client meetings are successful through planning, coordination, and preparation with internal stakeholders prior to execution.
    • May support Technical Program Managers during client interactions by capturing and managing meeting minutes, decisions, risks, countermeasures, and actions.
    • Serve as a point of contact for internal and external project stakeholders.
    • Maintains accurate, detailed, and integrated project plans for each client project through continuous updates and alignment checks with customers and internal colleagues.
    • Drive milestones and deliverables across functions to achieve the overall program objectives.
    • Partners with project teams to track and drive project risk countermeasures.
    • Monitors client documentation creation and approval, flagging risks and coordinating countermeasures as directed by Technical Program Managers.
    • Actively manages internal and external program SharePoint sites to ensure organization, completeness, and alignment with contract deliverables.
    • Provides updates and coordinates customer meetings through clear and succinct communication.
    • Ensures accurate and timely reporting of performance metrics for each project at defined intervals.
    • Develops and leverages a network across all site functions to ensure established processes are followed.
    • Collaborates with the Technical Program Managers and technical teams to ensure prospective client proposals are reviewed and returned to internal business partners in a timely fashion.
    • Initiates and monitors invoicing based on the contract payment schedule.
    • Monitors execution of each client program to ensure alignment with the stated strategy and goals.
    • Collaborates with workstream sponsors, leads, and team members to identify problems, trends, and impacts on project success along with proposed corrective actions.
    • Provide guidance and reinforce Project Management best practices to teams during all project phases through one-on-one interactions and group settings.
    • Develop and leverage a network across all site functions to ensure established processes are followed.
    • Use judgement and discretion to maintain consensus and support among independent stakeholders in a rapidly changing environment.


Qualifications
    • BS/MS/PhD in life science related discipline.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of project management experience in a relevant field.
    • Experience managing client or customer relationships is preferred.
    • PMP certification preferred.
    • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Understanding and strong knowledge of the overall drug development process preferred.
    • Previous direct experience working in cGMP environments including an understanding of related regulatory compliance requirements preferred.
    • Must be able to work and communicate efficiently with employees on all levels in one-on-one and group settings.
    • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and deliver results with minimal supervision.
    • Organized, flexible and easily adapts to changing conditions.
    • Excellent customer service skills, with a strong bias toward action, and owning and resolving issues.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS Project and MS Visio preferred.
    • Ability to rapidly learn new software and systems.


$100,000 - $140,000 a year
