POSITION SUMMARY
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to drive growth of additives and coupling agents in wood plastics composites (WPC), plastics compounding and recycling markets.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with compounders, OEMs, recyclers, and formulators.
- Develop product requirements and roadmaps for growing existing plastics accounts.
- Stay ahead on trends in sustainability and recycling, helping new and existing customers optimize formulations with higher recycled content and renewable fillers, all while maintaining performance and processing efficiency.
- Incorporate feedback and input from customers, partners and in-house teams on product strategy and finding ways to expand product market reach into automotive, packaging, industrial compounding and other adjacent markets.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success.
- Develop positive relationships with clients, and act as the point of contact and handle customers' individual needs.
- Provide technical consultation to support product development.
- Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks.
- Supervise independent account representatives to ensure sales increase.
- Report on the status of accounts and transactions.
- Monitor sales (e.g. quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
- Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Develop and implement product strategies consistent with company vision.
- Collect and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders and other teams to shape requirements, features and end products.
- Work with senior management to create product plans and roadmaps.
- Conduct performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in a Sales, Product Management, or Technical position with strong customer contact involvement.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS
- Proven experience as a Product Manager, Sales Manager, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of maleic anhydride modified polyolefins, coupling agents, compatibilizers, and additive systems
- Experience in the WPC, recycled plastics or compounding required.
- Extensive experience with business travel and face-to-face selling.
- Organizational and leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, problem-solving aptitude, creative thinking skills.
- Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
- BS/BA in Engineering, Business or related field or equivalent work experience.
