Summary of Job Purpose:

Oversees and monitors the technical support department's ability to support the technical activities in the MRO, LRUS, Accessories, Machine Shop and New Production operational activities for solving day-to-day issues concerning manuals, tools, special processes, on the job training, performance testing, engine component parts, and industrial equipment that arise during the course of daily operations.
Oversee the development of standards and procedures that continuously improve processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.
Ensure the optimal application of current processes and technical support resources in meeting and ensuring compliance to current standards in MRO, New Production, and LRUS for Arriel and Arrius product variants.
Provide guidance in the development and implementation of new processes that optimize all phases of assembly in New Production, and all phases of the repair and overhaul activities in MRO, and LRUS.
Oversee the technical support performance specialists application of current knowledge and historical data in the investigation process for modules or engines that may have failed test in MRO or New Production, or per the request of the customer to determine reason for non-performance.
Motivate staff to assist in problem resolution of modules and/or engines with the Service Engineers, Corporate Engineers, and TSR's in the application of expertise and resources when necessary in the repair and/or troubleshooting of complex problems concerning modules or complete engines in MRO & NP.
Ensure the optimal deployment and application by technical support personnel of technical directives (e.g. S/B's, DTR's, etc.) distributed by corporate engineering for meeting product, process, and testing requirements.
Promote and foster the application of new technology and innovation ideas developed by the department personnel.
Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
Write and perform performance reviews and identify areas of development for individuals to improve their expertise and skills.
Hire, train, and mentor the technical support engineering personnel.
Performs other related tasks as requested

Candidate skills & requirements
Required Competencies:

Education / Experience:
Master's Degree (M.A.) from four year college or university preferred
Five to ten years of related experience
Mechanical / Technical / Interpersonal-Advanced- Skills adapted to organization requirements
Possess the ability to share knowledge and train peers
Experience in working across cultures and being sensitive to local sensitivities
Experience in delivering results under pressure and take decisions
Have experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting/problem solving
Be able to prioritize in a complex, fast-paced environment
Have strong verbal and written communication skills, technical writing

Physical Requirements:
