Job Summary

Serves as a key liaison between Synovus' business and technology teams, ensuring that our technology strategy serves our business objectives. Maintains a portfolio of initiatives, assisting with prioritization, and planning for demand and capacity.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Technology leaders to develop and execute the technology strategy. Ensure alignment with business objectives and drive the implementation of key initiatives. This includes identifying emerging technology trends and assessing their potential impact on the organization.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the technology portfolio, including project prioritization, resource allocation, and performance tracking. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Develop and maintain a comprehensive portfolio dashboard to provide visibility into project status, risks, and issues.
  • Governance: Establish and maintain governance frameworks to ensure effective decision-making and risk management. Develop and implement policies and procedures to support technology initiatives. Facilitate regular governance meetings to review project progress and address any challenges.
  • Communication: Serve as a liaison between the technology leadership team, and other stakeholders. Facilitate communication and collaboration across the organization. Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and report on the performance of technology initiatives. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed. Conduct post-implementation reviews to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of technology professionals. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide coaching and development opportunities to team members to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the technology budget. Ensure financial resources are allocated effectively to support strategic priorities. Track and report on budget performance, and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders, vendors, and external partners. Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and ensure technology initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
  • Change Management: Lead change management efforts to ensure successful adoption of new technologies and processes. Develop and execute change management plans, including communication, training, and support activities.
  • Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Minimum experience:
  • Six years of experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of business processes and technology, vendor management and contract negotiations, and bridging the gap between business and technology
