The Technology Director leads all aspects of technology strategy, implementation, and support for the district. This leadership role is responsible for aligning technology resources with educational goals while ensuring reliable infrastructure, security, and innovation across all schools and departments. Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement a comprehensive technology plan aligned with the district's strategic goals and educational objectives - Oversee the district's technology infrastructure, including networks, servers, data centers, and cloud services - Manage technology procurement, budget planning, and resource allocation - Lead a team of IT professionals providing support for all district technology systems - Ensure data security, privacy compliance, and disaster recovery protocols - Collaborate with curriculum leaders to integrate educational technology that enhances teaching and learning - Provide professional development opportunities for staff to effectively utilize technology - Research emerging technologies and recommend strategic implementations - Maintain positive relationships with technology vendors and service providers - Present regular technology updates to the School Board and district leadership Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred - 5+ years of technology leadership experience, preferably in an educational environment - Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, information systems, and educational technology - Experience managing IT budgets, procurement processes, and vendor relationships - Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders - Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences - Knowledge of relevant technology regulations and compliance requirements (FERPA, COPPA, etc.) Attributes for Success - Strategic vision for educational technology's role in modern learning environments - Collaborative leadership style that builds consensus across departments - Problem-solving mindset that balances innovation with practical implementation - Commitment to equity in technology access and digital literacy for all students - Adaptability to rapidly evolving technology landscape and educational needs Working Conditions - Full-time, 12-month administrative position - Some evening and weekend work required for system maintenance and school events - Travel between district facilities required The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with educational vision to create technology systems that empower teachers and enhance student learning across the district.
