Summary: The Technology Support Associate plays a vital role in providing technical support and maintaining the functionality of devices, platforms, and systems within the school environment. The role also includes system administration, infrastructure management, and troubleshooting technical issues to enhance the learning experience.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Offer day-to-day technical support to students, faculty, and staff for various devices and software.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Support classroom technology, ensuring effective integration of instructional tools.
- Provide technical assistance during large school events.
- Develop and maintain internal user guides and training materials for common technical issues.
- Support student-led tech help desk club
- Provide login and technical support of systems to all constituents.
- Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, updating records in systems like Veracross and SchoolPass.
- Track and maintain an accurate inventory of technology equipment, including accessories and loaner devices.
- Manage classroom technology inventory to ensure availability and proper functionality.
- Assist with updating school photos and calendars in the Veracross SIS.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on school-issued devices, escalating complex issues as needed.
- Maintain printers, copiers, and technology-related office supplies.
- Coordinate the collection and preparation of devices at the end and beginning of the school years.
- Provide training and support for instructional technology platforms, including macOS and iPads.
- Teach a technology-related elective course for middle school students as needed.
- Provide occasional one-off technology lessons for lower school students as needed.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff in student-facing duties, including arrival/dismissal, recess, and lunch supervision.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a 4-year degree
- Minimum 3 years as a system administrator, technical support specialist, or similar role (school infrastructure experience is preferred)
- Excellent troubleshooting, technical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent research and documentation skills
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; ability to prioritize support requests and work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision, and escalate support requests as necessary to ensure that all support requests are resolved within acceptable time frames.
- Must work well in a collaborative team environment as well as independently
- Ability to work well with K-8 students, adult colleagues, and families; willing to be an active, enthusiastic member of the community
- Experience training or teaching adults
- Approachable and comfortable with ambiguity
- Can-do spirit
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree. Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of a 4-year degree
- Familiarity with Macbooks, iPads, Google Workspace, monitors, printing management systems, projectors, and Front Row systems is highly desirable
- Experience working in an educational environment
Working Conditions:

- Must be able to travel safely and comfortably between our two buildings
- Must be able to frequently, safely, and comfortably lift at least 30 lbs.
- Able to adjust to multiple work environments (office, classroom, and outdoor)
- Must be able to comfortably and safely, climb, bend, pull, reach, kneel, stoop, and see for near and far work.
- Must be able to view and operate a computer and related technology and equipment at least 90% of working time.
