POSITION SUMMARY
Ontario Shores is seeking an Advanced Practice Clinician, reporting to Administrative Director, Forensic Program.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED AND PREFERRED
. Current registration with a Professional College required
Masters degree in a health discipline required
Experience working within the forensic system preferred
3 years' experience working in service provision to clients with serious mental illness and or concurrent disorders required.
Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings required.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in clinical education/teaching preferred.
Demonstrated experience with teaching/learning skills based on the principles of mentorship and adult learning
Experience in a Clinical Specialist or advance practice role an asset.
Experience in working in various outpatient/ community settings an asset.
Experience with process improvement an asset.
Demonstrated working knowledge/experience with electronic health records preferred
Meditech experience preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of College Standards of Practice and commitment to maintaining reflective practice standards as described by the College.
Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, Forensic Mental Health System relevant policies and legislation.
Ability to work effectively individually as well as part of an inter-professional team.
Proven ability to exercise mature, effective judgment and independent problem solving.
Proven leadership abilities.
The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills including demonstrated excellent documentation practices.
Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.
