Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, Wellness and Occupational Health, Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is offering an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Labour Relations professional to join our dynamic Team!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Interprets the Collective Agreement and provides support with the administration of the collective agreement to stakeholders
Provides consultation on a variety of Labour Relations matters including employee/labour relations, collective agreement interpretation, discipline, grievances, mediations and arbitrations
Acts as the Centre's advisor at all mediations and arbitrations ensuring that settlements are within mandate; including drafting, reviewing and monitoring settlement documents.
Acts as a resource to Human Resource Consultants on all labour relations issues.
Leads all grievance and Labour/Management meetings and prepares relevant research, data collection and costings as appropriate
Prepares files and provides consultation and advice to outside legal counsel in addressing grievances, mediations and arbitrations
Serves as lead in preparation and research including analyzing and identify trends for collective bargaining, as well as integral members of the management collective bargaining team
Develop and conduct training on labour relations, performance management and impacts of new and /or changed legislation and collective agreement language
*Build and maintain relationship with union partners
Participates in a variety of projects and committees including but not limited to Pay Equity, Joint Health and Safety Committee, etc.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in a related field (Human Resource, Labour Relations, Industrial Relations) or equivalent combination of education and work experience in progressive human resources environment. CHRP or CHRL designation would be an asset.
Minimum 5-7 years of progressive, labour relations experience, working in a complex unionized environment.
Expert Knowledge and Experience in HRIS , Microsoft Office Suite and other related computer systems.
Demonstrated project management experience.
A thorough knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation (ESA, Ontario Human Rights Code, Ontario Labour Relations Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.) and the ability to interpret and apply collective agreement language.
Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships with all business partners and stakeholders, and be an effective team player.
Customer service oriented
Proven ability to prioritize projects, multi-task, and work independently in a fast paced environment with constant demands.
Very strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, presentation, consulting and coaching skills.
Pragmatic problem solving skills, sound judgement, critical thinking and decision-making skills.

This is a up to 6 months contract
