Position Description

Under the direction of the Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions (Director) the Temporary Senior Associate
Director of Undergraduate Recruitment (Senior Associate) leads a team of dynamic and talented
admissions professionals dedicated to first time in college and transfer recruitment with critical enrollment
goals to achieve. The recruitment team manages their regions and students assigned to them to achieve
metrics including applications submitted, completed applications, and confirmed and enrolled students.

Essential Functions:

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Supervises assistant directors and senior assistant directors overseeing FTIC recruitment, transfer recruitment team, and visits/events program.
  • Trains, supervises, sets priorities, and conducts performance evaluations for reporting staff.
  • Steps into leadership roles as needed to support various teams and manage day-to-day operations.

Recruitment and Admissions Management:

  • Manages assigned regions, including review, evaluation, and initial undergraduate admission recommendations.
  • Provides personalized attention to prospective students, family members, and key influencers.
  • Manages recruitment responsibilities and the outside reader program.

Collaboration and Strategy Development:
  • Works closely with the Vice Provost for Enrollment, Associate VP and Dean of Admission, Senior Director of Undergraduate Admissions, and other colleagues to develop and execute enrollment strategies.
  • Collaborates with key campus partners and external constituents such as high school counselors and CBO leaders.

Program Liaison and Management:
  • Serves as liaison with Seattle University's Fostering Scholars Program, Human Resources, and the Tuition Exchange and FACHEX Program.
  • Manages the Nursing 2 year cohort admission review and decision process.
  • Tracks applicant statuses and provides recommendations on strategies to yield the most qualified students.
  • Manages relationships with scholarship programs and key oncampus relationships.

Event and Travel Planning:
  • Works closely with teams to execute key recruitment strategies and plan travel for recruitment purposes.
  • Meeting with prospective students through various visitations and interviews.
  • Attending major admission events like preview days, regional receptions and open houses.
  • Responding to inquiries via telephone, email, and within Slate CRM.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 5 years Undergraduate Admissions experience and 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience working in a CRM and using reporting and queries to make data informed decisions.
  • Applicants will possess excellent organization skills and attention to detail; superior oral and written communications skills are essential.
  • A demonstrated commitment to diversity and the mission, vision, and values of Seattle University.
  • All positions at Seattle University require a criminal history background check.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree; experience knowledge of summer programs targeting high school students, financial aid trends and enrollment-related issues in higher education preferred.
  • Experience marketing to diverse youth and young adult populations through major communication channels including print, social media, telemarketing, digital marketing, web and text.
  • Experience with the Slate CRM.
  • Five years of supervisory experience.
  • Ten or more years working in admissions at a non-profit accredited university.

Compensation at a Glance

Salary Range: $44 per hour

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that representsits good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at thetime of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will bedetermined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selectedcandidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equityconsiderations, and available market information, and not based on acandidate's gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible

Thisposition may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion ofan introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligiblerole will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid formatfollowing onboarding and training.
