ABOUT THE JOB
The ACLU seeks applicants for the temporary, full-time position of Strategy Consultant in the Strategy Office of the Executive Department of the ACLU's National office in New York, NY. This position is also eligible for remote work in the United States. This is a 5-month position, working full time from April 1, 2025- September 1, 2025.

The Strategy Office is charged with working with leadership to set the direction of the organization and ensuring that the ACLU works in a coordinated way to protect and advance civil rights and civil liberties in the United States. The office resides within the Executive Department, the visionary center of leadership of the nation's primary defender of civil liberties.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Strategy Consultant will support the Strategy Office in defining and evaluating ACLU's strategy for the years ahead.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
The ACLU is committed to equity, transparency, and clarity in pay. Consistent with our compensation philosophy, there is a set salary for each role based on geographic work location. The annual salary for this position is $155,674 (Level E), reflecting the salary of a position based in New York, NY. Salaries are subject to a regional pay adjustment if authorization is granted to work outside of the location listed in this posting. Please note that the salary will be prorated based on the duration of the assignment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the Strategy Consultant will support the Strategy Office in defining and evaluating ACLU's strategy for the years ahead.
YOUR DAY TO DAY
- Support subject matter experts to develop multi-year strategic plans for ACLU's key issue areas, such as voting rights, LGBTQ rights, and racial justice. This includes leading workshops, facilitating alignment with leadership across functions, and synthesizing inputs into a compelling and actionable strategic plan
- Develop an evaluation framework to assess progress towards our strategic objectives at the organizational, department, and issue level. This includes selecting metrics, building scorecards or dashboards and a measurement plan, and identifying the routine to discuss progress and inform data-driven decision making. This will require close partnership with the analytics and research teams
- Develop leadership presentations and communications for leadership in support of the Strategy Office
- Engage in other special projects as needed
- Be committed to advancing the mission of the ACLU
- Center and embed the principles of equity, inclusion and belonging in their work by demonstrating commitment to diversity with an approach that respects and values multiple perspectives
- Be committed to work collaboratively and respectfully toward resolving obstacles and conflicts
