Description
The School of Psychological and Behavioral Sciences at Southern Illinois University Carbondale seeks a clinical forensic psychologist for an advanced assistant, associate, or professor rank position. Candidates are expected to conduct programmatic research, compete for extramural research funding, teach psychology courses, and mentor graduate students. Candidates will also be expected to provide forensic mental health services in the region. The anticipated starting date is August 12, 2025. This is a full-time, 10.5 month, Tenure-Track Faculty academic appointment with 50% of the faculty member's time devoted to teaching, research, and non-clinical service, and 50% of the time to clinical services in the Southern Illinois region.

Examples of Duties
Candidates are expected to conduct productive and programmatic research and compete for extramural research funding. Candidates are also expected to teach undergraduate and/or graduate psychology courses. Regarding clinical services, the faculty member will develop a forensic mental health service program with the potential to develop a postdoctoral fellowship program. Thus, the ideal candidate is expected to provide supervision of pretrial criminal evaluations, to include court-ordered competency to stand trial and mental state at the time of the offense evaluations, as well as possibly competency restoration services. The faculty member will also provide supervision of students from the APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology in a forensic psychology practicum.

Candidates must have received their Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology and must be licensed or license eligible in Illinois. Qualifications for each faculty rank are as follows:
