Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement testing procedures for automatic transmissions, including performance, durability, and functional tests.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and contribute to the development of best practices in testing
- Ensure that all testing equipment is properly calibrated and maintained. Troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues.
- Design and build automatic transmission testing equipment to validate build quality of remanufactured assemblies.
- Maintain thorough documentation of testing procedures, results, and modifications made during the testing process.
- Assist in training team members on testing methodologies and best practices.
- Partner with on-site EHS to ensure all equipment meets safety regulations compliant with OSHA.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience in an engineering role within automotive testing environment.
- Proficient in testing methodologies and tools. Familiarity with data analysis software and automotive diagnostic tools.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Understand operational theory of automatic transmissions.
- Experience with assembly of complex hydraulic/mechanical assemblies.
- Must possess solid mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills with the ability to multi-task
- Must be extremely flexible regarding priority changes.
- Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret procedures and/or safety manuals.
- Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with testing equipment specific to automotive transmissions.
- Experience using National Instruments LabVIEW
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, electronics, and software used in modern automatic transmissions.
