Position Overview:
We are seeking a Test Systems Electrical Engineering Section Head to join the team. This role will involve overseeing a team of electrical engineers, managing the development of test equipment, and providing technical leadership. The position is based onsite with a flexible work schedule, including the option for a 9/80 workweek.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of electrical engineers assigned to develop test equipment, providing technical mentoring and training.
- Collaborate with other managers to assign engineers to projects and ensure team performance meets project goals.
- Enforce process compliance and contribute to the development of process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Conduct performance reviews for direct reports and participate in workforce planning, recruitment, and hiring.
- Serve as an individual contributor on assigned projects (50-75% of the time), utilizing expertise in electrical engineering to mentor and guide the team.
- Design and develop various test systems, including analog and digital circuits, electronic test consoles, and real-time test systems.
- Support the design of cabling and electromechanical packaging for test systems.
- Develop and review engineering documentation, including drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
- Travel occasionally (5-10%) for international engagement as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in developing engineering drawings, schematics, and technical reports.
- Experience managing teams in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to interface with team members, other section heads, and global managers.
- Experience with engineering tools and standards such as DOORS, Cadence, OrCAD, PSPICE, LTSPICE, Teamcenter, IPC-620, IPC-630, J-STD-001, and NFPA-79.
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
- Experience in aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
- Competency in analog and digital circuit design, electronic test console design, and real-time test systems for complex systems.
- Experience with printed wiring board (PWB) design and other relevant electrical engineering disciplines.
