The successful Thermal Engineer will focus primarily on all aspects of thermal and thermal-vacuum (TVAC) testing at the component, sub-system, and spacecraft level. Additional work will include assisting the thermal team in general design and analysis support.
The successful candidate will be innovative, creative, and challenge the status quo. They will work well in teams while also having the ability to lead a small team and to work assignments autonomously.

The successful Thermal Engineer will focus primarily on all aspects of thermal and thermal-vacuum (TVAC) testing at the component, sub-system, and spacecraft level. Additional work will include assisting the thermal team in general design and analysis support.

Responsibilities:
- Develop thermal and TVAC test plans and procedures for components, subsystems, and spacecraft level tests
- Design test setups and Identify test hardware needs
- Provide technical support for production and testing of satellites and the associated hardware.
- Troubleshoot and investigate anomalies during the production process, perform root-cause analysis, and provide resolution.
- Create test reports to document tests completed
- Perform post-test/flight thermal model correlation
- Be the liaison between the thermal and manufacturing teams to monitor production and assist with issues as they arise
- Support thermal hardware design, analysis and test (Spacecraft Structure, Avionics development support, MLI blankets, venting, heat pipes, sensors, etc)
- Minimum 5 experience with component and spacecraft level thermal testing in ambient pressure and vacuum.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Strong technical skill in Thermal analysis using Thermal Desktop
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with other engineers.
- Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
- Master's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
- subcontractor oversight, including component selection, requirements derivation and management.
- Basic programming skills (Python, Fortran, MatLab)
