We are looking for a Trade Compliance Manager to join our growing team and ensure global trade compliance while optimizing our supply chain efficiency.

Job Summary

The Trade Compliance Manager will oversee all aspects of customs compliance, international trade regulations, and import/export operations for SKIMS. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining trade compliance policies, Duty Drawback, ensuring adherence to international and domestic regulations, and mitigating risks associated with global trade activities. The ideal candidate has a strong background in customs regulations, tariff classifications, and free trade agreements, along with experience working with apparel and consumer goods. You must have apparel experience and be committed to being in Los Angeles to be considered for this role.

Responsibilities

Trade Compliance & Regulatory Management
Ensure SKIMS' compliance with all U.S. and international import/export regulations, including CBP (Customs and Border Protection), FDA, CPSC, and other government agencies
Develop, implement, and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, and controls
Monitor regulatory changes in trade laws and proactively update company policies and practices
Maintain accurate HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification, country of origin, and valuation for all SKIMS products
Oversee and manage all customs documentation, entry filings, and record-keeping in accordance with U.S. and global trade regulations

Import/Export Operations & Risk Management
Implement and maintain duty drawback program
Oversee HTS Tariffs and translation of HTS for new global markets
Collaborate with Freight forwarding companies
Review and approve import/export documentation, ensuring accuracy in commercial invoices, packing lists, and compliance certifications
Identify potential risks and compliance gaps, implementing corrective actions to minimize exposure
Conduct internal audits of trade compliance processes and prepare reports for leadership
Ensure compliance with free trade agreements (FTAs), duty drawback programs, and tariff mitigation strategies
Analyze annual duty payments, providing confirmation or guidance on accuracy /opportunities for optimal classification

Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives
Partner with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Logistics, Merchandising, and Legal, to align trade compliance efforts with business objectives
Train internal teams on trade compliance best practices and regulatory updates
Support new market expansion by assessing compliance requirements for international distribution and retail operations
Leverage data analytics and trade compliance software to improve efficiency and ensure regulatory adherence

Qualifications
5+ years of experience in trade compliance, customs compliance, or global logistics, preferably within the apparel or consumer goods industry
Licensed Customs broker
Deep knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (CBP), import/export compliance, HTS classification, and trade agreements
Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers
Proficiency in trade compliance software (e.g., Descartes, Amber Road, SAP GTS, or similar)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess trade risks and implement compliance solutions
Excellent project management and communication skills
Experience using ACE customs system
Netsuite experience preferred
Knowledge of BI tools
Some domestic and international travel will be required

$115,000 - $135,000 a year
