Ceres Group is looking for a high-potential individual to join a Clients Investment Systems Support team. The Investment Division at the Client has a staff of approximately 200 investment professionals. The Investment Systems Support team maintains and supports all software applications that support the Portfolio Management, Trading, Portfolio Accounting, and Custody operations.
The candidate will have primary responsibility for support of trading system applications and customers, including issue resolution, tracking and status reporting. They will monitor a high-volume Support Desk located on the trading floors to provide first-level support to users of investment and trading applications. They will work with users in trading, investments and back-office, as well as with systems professionals to investigate and solve system issues and participate in business analysis, requirements definition, and testing. This hands-on professional will be the primary contact for support and act as a liaison between the user and development teams.

Working hours are on a monthly rotation: the opening shift 7am-3:30pm (half hour lunch) for one month then the closing shift 9:30am-6pm (half hour lunch) the next month is the current schedule, but subject to change. Investment Systems Support is required to be available on nights and weekends as needed and to be the on-call contact on a monthly rotation.

Required Background:
  • 3-7 years previous work experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, MIS, Computer Science or related field.
  • Previous experience working with Investments and Investment Systems or knowledge of the trade workflow/processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise of Minerva, FIX protocol, eTrade and/or TransactTools TCM.
  • Demonstrated expertise of SQL, Oracle and/or Access Databases
  • Demonstrated client relationship and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity working with Vendors, Investment Users and Brokers.
  • Familiarity with Putty and/or FileZilla and command prompts.
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, prioritization, and time management skills.
Desired Background:
  • Strong knowledge of 3rd Party applications such as MarketAxess, MatLab, Eikon, MarkitWire, Symphony
  • Previous use of Jira - Kanban and Agile workflows.
  • Familiarity with Office 365
  • Front, Middle or Back Office experience a plus.
