The anticipated salary range for this role is between $190,000.00 and $235,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The communications and Training Executive Director will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic communications plan for the CDAO.

Role Objectives

  • Develop communication strategies that support the CDAO
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with organizational goals
  • Evolve existing and create new communications channels and tactics that deliver the right message, to the right audience, at the right time
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive data training program
  • Identify training needs, benchmarking what exists internally and designing programs that address skill gaps
  • Utilize data and feedback to continuously improve learning initiatives and measure their impact on business performance
  • Facilitate training workshops


Qualifications and Skills

Recommended years of experience: 10
  • Strategic, consultative, and creative thinker with the ability to create and deliver compelling communication programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing communication strategies and plans
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high quality results within deadlines
  • Strategic and consultative skills, posing the ability to translate business priorities and target outcomes into highly effective and impactful communications
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and use insights to drive decision-making and improve learning outcomes
