Job Description:
Responsible for productivity initiatives and all operational training programs including training in baking and management systems under the supervision of the Plant Manager.
Duties Include:
- Ensure compliance with AIB standards, Company policies and government regulations;
- Conduct audits and lead initiatives to ensure the compliance with the General Bakery Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense programs and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and ensures adherence to all quality requirements including Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), etc.;
- Supervise allergen control program and track compliance with improvement methodologies;
- Maintain a safe work environment through compliance of all Company, Local, State and Federal mandates or programs;
- Develop processes for effective start-up activities including calculating orders, checking dough sheet, equipment condition and temperature settings;
- Lead and own the On-the-Job and Pay-For-Skills training programs within the bakery;
- Lead the integration of WinSPC with multiple manufacturing systems, including PLCs, and ERP systems such as MIPS and ODI;
- Collaborate with departments to minimize variations, optimize product quality, and track ingredient consumption;
- Facilitate workshops, analyze processes, and develop SOPs and training materials;
- Act as a liaison between departments, stay updated on industry trends, and drive organizational change initiatives;
- Provide training sessions, conduct data analysis, and lead continuous improvement projects;
- Coordinate training logistics, manage training records, and evaluate training effectiveness;
- Conduct audits and inspections, analyze quality data, and identify areas for improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering.
- 2 years of experience as a Supervisor in a food production environment.
- Experience must include:
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous improvement tools and methodologies such as: Gemba-walks, DMAIC, 6s, 5 Whys, Standard work, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, Poke Yoke, PDCA Cycle, Kanban, 8 Lean Wastes, Bottleneck analysis, SMED, OEE, Fishbone, and RCPS; Food Defense and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points;
- Lean Six Sigma and Good Manufacturing Practices;
- Statistical Process control including Distribution charts, X-bar and R charts, Histograms, and Pareto charts;
- Inventory Management, including EOQ, Max/Min, Holding Cost, FIFO, JIT;
- Production Planning, MRP, BOM, Cycle Time, and Takt Time;
- Change Management and Document Control;
- Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, including Oracle and SOMAX.
