Responsibilities

Noblis MSD's mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) in their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is seeking a Trainer or Indepent Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) to support U.S. Navy Hull, Mechanical, and Electrical (HM&E) programs. You will provide engineering and technical assistance support at San Diego, CA.

The Trainer or ISEA is a full time position, and will consist of a combination of remote work, and onsite work at ships located in San Diego as well as other fleet concentration areas. The position will facilitate training and or testing and troubleshooting of ship steering and equipment and assisting in technical refreshes of existing systems.
    • Lead fleet training courses centered around ship driving capabilities
    • Articulate steering system component pathways and functionality
    • Complete Shipboard Operabilty Verification Tests for steering systems
    • Assess proper integration with steering peripheral equipment such as Hydraulic Power Units and information systems
    • Travel to fleet concentration areas to facilitate training technical installations, and or repairs.
    • Facilitate crew upgrade training as it pertains to new system installation and operation.
    • Provide subject matter expertise at status meetings.
    • Complete assigned tasking with minimal to no supervision.
    • Facilitate fleet implementation and fielding plans.
    • Develop and execute test plans.
    • Provide feedback and lessons learned for test plans and technical documentation

There is the opportunity for a hybrid work environment on this long term contract.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in a related filed and 3 years of relevant experience. A High School degree and 9 years experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Maintenance Experience.
  • Helmsman/Lee Helmsman qualified on DDG 51 Class Integrated Bridge (Preferred).
  • Knowledge of steering system electronic components and functions.
  • Willing to travel (40% on average).
  • Naval Instructor qualified or equal qualification/certification.
  • Curriculum development/management experience.
  • US Citizen with a Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance required.

  • Experience with Microsoft word
  • Experience with Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Experience with Microsoft Teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with Adobe Pro
  • Navigation System (IBNS) Steering & Propulsion Control System (SPCS) software experience.
  • Master Helmsman qualified (Preferred)
  • 5+ years operational experience with DDG IBNS SPCS software
  • Master Training Specialist (MTS) qualified or equal qualification/certification (Preferred)

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.

Posted Salary Range

USD $63,600.00 - USD $99,450.00 /Yr.
