Job Description

Lazard is one of the world's leading financial advisory and asset management firms. Our people make the difference. With just over 3,000 employees, our tight-knit community allows for professionals eager to learn and willing to teach to connect and grow together. We believe that diversity, equity, inclusion, and allyship are not just business imperatives - they are central pillars of our employee experience. Our entrepreneurial culture and flat structure allow creative ideas and original concepts to drive our business forward - and for careers to take flight.

Through our financial advisory business, Lazard advises clients around the world on strategic and financial matters including mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, capital structure and capital raising. Our client relationships are built on trust and discretion. As the world's largest advisory-focused firm, we have exceptional depth of expertise across industry sectors and geographies. We value the rich diversity that comes from blending local perspective with our global network.

The Lazard Private Capital Advisory Group is a global leader in raising capital, executing secondary transactions and providing capital solutions for private investment funds. The group has three lines of business:
  • Private equity and credit fund placement: raising institutional capital for buyout, growth, turnaround, venture capital, mezzanine, and opportunistic credit fund managers
  • Real estate fund placement: raising institutional capital for real estate fund managers
  • Secondary private market advisory: conducting sales processes of existing fund positions or direct company interests on behalf of both fund managers and institutional investors

The fund placement bankers in PCA work in two primary functions: transaction management and investor coverage. The transaction management team works closely with the fund manager and is responsible for evaluating potential new business opportunities, preparing the offering materials to take a transaction to market, preparing and updating due diligence materials, managing the due diligence process, and effectively coordinating roadshows and closing processes.

The investor coverage team has highly cultivated relationships with more than 1,000 institutional investors globally, including public and corporate pension funds, endowments and foundations, financial institutions, fund of funds managers, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds.

The transaction management and investor coverage teams collaborate to ensure a targeted and effective marketing process.

Secondary advisory bankers integrate these two functions while also working with the investor coverage team to efficiently raise capital for secondary clients. Some transaction management professionals work across the three lines of business (including all of the Analysts in the US).

Lazard's Private Capital Advisory Group is a global team of over 75 investment bankers with offices in the US (New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and San Francisco), Europe (London and Paris) and Asia (Singapore). Recent clients of the group have included: AE Industrial Partners, Ara Partners, Ares Management, Clayton Dubilier & Rice, Eurazeo, Fifth Wall Real Estate, Goldman Sachs Asset Management, Henderson Park Real Estate, Insight Partners, Kohlberg & Co., Madison Dearborn Partners, Madison Realty Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Permira, TH Lee, and TPG.

The Transaction Management Coordinator will be responsible for managing the logistics related to the private equity, private credit and real estate primary fundraising mandates across Lazard's Private Capital Advisory platform.

We'll trust you to:
  • Manage the logistics and transaction related calendars for designated private funds assignments across multiple strategies and asset classes for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Along with internal transaction management bankers, coordinate and execute virtual and in-person fundraising roadshows and other prospective investor meetings and group events

  • Assist with logistical oversight of the transaction management team, generating suggestions for efficiency improvements via process and/or technology
  • Available and responsive throughout each meeting/event and manage on-site events (in NYC) where necessary

You'll need to have:
  • Extraordinarily detail oriented, proactive and capable of independent work
  • Ability to interact with various staff members at all levels and in multiple geographies in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, remaining positive, flexible, resourceful, and efficient, with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
