Primary Function
Under general supervision, maintains continuity of service demands through generation, transmission and distribution lines and equipment; coordinates the safe restoration and maintenance of electrical services; implements and may modify plans and schedules to remove lines and equipment from service; operates the power SCADA and outage management systems; complies with Reserve Sharing Group contractual obligations,and complies with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), Western Electricity Coordinating Council, (WECC) reliability standards and operating procedures and district operating policies, procedures, standards and requirements. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, public administration, economics or engineering and five years of experience in utility dispatching or electrical power systems.
Progressively responsible directly related experience may be substituted for the required education at the ratio of two years of experience for one year of education required in progressively responsible utility dispatching or electrical power systems.
Licensing & Certification Requirements
North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Certification, BITO or RO and District Certification is required.
A valid driver's license issued by the State of California, Department of Motor Vehicles is required.
Veteran's Preference (External Applicants Only): Submit DD form 214 or other evidence of veterans' status by the job posting deadline.
Other Requirements/Testing
A negative drug test is required as a condition of employment.
