MWA Architects is seeking a talented Transportation and Resource Management Lead to join our San Francisco office. As Lead, you will work closely with our Director of Transportation and Resource Management and a diverse team of architects and designers building on a long history of community-based projects across the Bay Area. In addition to transportation, this includes solid waste and wastewater energy recovery and satellite neighborhood utility projects. You will develop and foster relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors, and strive to be visible and active in professional organizations. You will be supported by your director, principals and key staff to lead and sustain this growing sector of our business.

Responsibilities
Candidate has a desire to enhance the fabric of our community and design for our essential infrastructure.
Lead sector business development efforts in the San Francisco office working directly with Portland, Oregon based Sector Director.
Work with MWA marketing staff to identify opportunities and pursuits within the Bay Area and adjacent regions.
Involvement in firm strategic planning with Principals and Directors to coordinate overall firm direction and growth opportunities.
Actively participate in response to Request for Proposals with marketing staff.
Maintain ongoing relationships with existing Clients through personalized outreach and follow-up.
Apply architectural design standards, practices, and techniques to a wide variety of architectural assignments.
Perform a variety of assignments such as conducting architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing related reports.
Review drawings, renderings, layouts, study models, construction documents, color boards and specifications prepared by others, including subconsultants.
Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Provide technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses.
Write feasibility studies, design reports, construction specifications and prepare detailed requisitions for equipment and materials.
Provide the seal and signature of a professional architect when required by statute or contract.
Provide technical guidance to Architectural Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
Keep abreast of current technologies via technical subscriptions and attendance at conferences.
Prepare staffing estimates and execution plans.
Qualifications
Great with people: interpersonal skills to achieve project and company goals
Fully qualified Professional Licensed Architect (RA) who is proficient in developing creative architectural solutions
Bachelor's degree in architecture, or equivalent, is required
10 years or more of Related Experience
Proficiency in the application of architectural design standards, practices, techniques, and concepts
Proficiency in Revit and other PC software packages typically associated with architectural design is also required.
Strong outreach skills and willingness to engage with potential clients outside of the office environment
Ability to create presentations and present to clients and others
Passion for and experience with design of rail or bus transit, aviation, multi-modal, transit-oriented design (TOD), resource management (waste recovery)
Sustainable and resilient design experience; LEED, JUST, Living Building, WELL or another green accreditation are a plus

Salary Range
At MWA Architects, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $150,000 and $170,000 and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and years of experience.
Additional Applicant Information:
MWA currently offers a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the San Francisco office and the option to work from home two days. Occasional travel to the Portland, Oregon office and job sites is required.
