Shift: Day - 5x8, 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with call requirements
Guaranteed Hours: [Not specified]
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in an acute care hospital setting in the operating room or an instrument care environment preferred
License: Surgical Tech certification required
Certifications: BLS certification required prior to the end of the probationary period
Must-Have: Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in English
Job Description:
- Serve as an integral member of the surgical team, providing crucial support for surgeons throughout operations.
- Prepare, provide, and care for instruments and equipment, maintaining a sterile field.
- Demonstrate knowledge in care and handling of medical instruments and equipment.
- Follow sterilization and cleansing procedures accurately.
- Adhere to Universal Precautions and Right to Know guidelines to prevent exposure to infectious materials or hazardous chemicals.
- Utilize all available protective equipment, with cleaning, repair, and replacement provided.
- Apply heavy physical effort, including standing, walking, or lifting most of the day.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in written materials.
- Report to the Manager of Surgical Services.
