Job Summary
Provides legal support for the Achieva Family Trust Team. Performs legal research and drafts legal documents concerning trust matters for trust beneficiaries. Reviews all legal documents, including trusts and accountings. Corresponds with attorneys, beneficiaries and family members regarding trust matters. Assists with trust administration and the fiduciary tax process for Achieva Family Trust. Reports to the Vice President.

Reviews all legal documents, including trusts and accountings. Corresponds with attorneys, beneficiaries and family members regarding trust matters. Assists with trust administration and the fiduciary tax process for Achieva Family Trust. Reports to the Vice President.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports the achievements of individuals' personal outcomes, serving as general legal counsel for the Achieva Family Trust.
- Provides education and training on trust and other legal issues for both internal and external audiences.
- Performs legal research in regards to trust-related legal issues and related activities. Reports the results to the Vice President or the President of Achieva Family Trust and performs any requested follow up or further research.
- Reviews all Joinder Agreements and drafts of trust documents. Corresponds with drafting attorney after review with regards to any questions or revisions.
- Reviews accountings in regards to estates, trust terminations and trust transfers. Corresponds with drafting attorney after review with regards to any questions or revisions.
- Interacts with attorneys, beneficiaries, and family members in regards to potential or existing trust accounts.
- Presents legal issues and/or documents to the Achieva Family Trust Board for approval, as requested.
- Assists in the coordination and development of Special Projects, as requested.
- Coordinates the opening of accounts for Payback and Third Party Trusts, which includes reviewing legal documents, including trust agreements, obtaining a tax identification number for each trust, working with the attorney, settlor, and/or beneficiary to obtain necessary information to open and fund the account.
- Obtains relevant documentation, such as trust instruments and tax information, and updates computer documents and systems.
- Works with the trust tax preparation service to facilitate the preparation and filing of Fiduciary Tax Returns, including obtaining necessary 1099 forms from prior fiduciaries and other paying agents, and tax information from investment managers. Ensures the dissemination of mandatory tax forms to beneficiaries. Coordinates with trust tax service regarding the timely filing of tax returns for individual trusts and the pooled trust.
- Ensures the payment of all trust taxes due with returns and estimated tax payments when necessary. Works with trust tax service to resolve any tax issues which may arise.
- Provides guidance and supervision for any Legal Assistants/Paralegals as well as any law students/legal interns assigned to the Achieva Family Trust.
- Assists with the Education and Outreach efforts of the Achieva Family Trust.
- Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Law degree from an accredited U.S. Law School.
- Must be admitted to the PA or another state BAR or able to obtain admission to the PA BAR within 1 year of hire.
- Must have experience with regards to trusts and estates and be proficient in legal research.
- Excellent computer and oral presentation skills.
- Proficient organizational skills with the ability to work independently, as well as with others.
- Act 33/34 clearances required upon employment.
- Valid drivers license and properly insured vehicle for daily use.
