Current Sonography license required. Must obtain a permanent license within one year of hire.
Certifications:
Registered or eligible for registration with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in ultrasound physics, general abdominal, OB/GYN. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must be completed within 90 days of hire.
Must-Have:
- Graduated from an approved program in ultrasound technology
- Registration with ARDMS preferred in additional specialties
Job Description:
- Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, pelvic, obstetric, vascular, and musculoskeletal scans.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety while obtaining clear and accurate images.
- Capture high-quality ultrasound images that accurately represent the anatomy or pathology being examined.
- Provide clinical history relevant to the exam for the physician.
- Maintain ultrasound equipment, performing routine maintenance and quality control checks.
- Report any equipment failures or maintenance problems to the Department Manager.
- Coordinate with front desk personnel to ensure a smooth ultrasound schedule.
- Compile statistics as required by the Department Manager.
- Keep current with advances in ultrasound technology and medical knowledge through continuing education and training.
- Possess strong patient care skills including excellent communication and empathy.
- Work compatibly with physicians, patients, and other staff members.
